Biography:
Sandie is currently Lecturer in Dance at University of Ulster where she is responsible for teaching on the undergraduate dance degree programme and managing the dance outreach programme Satellite. Sandie’s outreach work and research explores collaboration, creative learning and accessibility and excellence in performance.
She is also Artistic Director of dance theatre company, Assault Events choreographing, directing and performing works for regional and national touring as well as numerous large scale youth and community outreach projects.
Prior to working at the University of Ulster Sandie held Artist in Residence and Lecturer posts at Leeds University College Bretton Hall and De Montfort University, Leicester. She has also worked for The National Dance Agency Dance 4, Nottingham and Dance Agency Cornwall. She completed her MA in Contemporary Performing Arts at Leeds University College, Bretton Hall in 1997 and completed her training as a Pilates Instructor in 2010. She is currently a board member for Tinderbox Theatre Company, Northern Ireland.
